"irql_not_less_or_equal" Error running a VM? Try this.

If you're new to virtual machines like me, you may not have had any issues until you try to install Windows 10. I had no trouble at all with Linux or Server2016. There are lots of tutorials showing you how easy it is to install VirtualBox and get your vm going, but what happens when you get an endless BSOD with "irql_not_less_or_equal"?

Searching the error brings up a host of suggestions that probably won't do you any good. If you're using VirtualBox like everyone suggests, make sure you follow the directions here or here to disable Hyper-V. Running bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off was enough for me.
